Wonderful Alghero

Whether for a weekend or your annual vacation you will not be disappointed in Alghero.
The terrific beaches and fascinating grottos make this an ideal spot for all. You can watch dolphins on a boat trip to Neptune’s Grotto. If you just want to chill out you can soak up the sun at the beach for a while. The beaches are sandy and long and run right into the city!

Take a walk along the Bastioni, the thick defence walls built to protect Alghero from the pirates. Spanish influence can be seen in the beautiful churches and St Francesco is an excellent example. The view of glorious sunsets is best enjoyed from atop the sea walls or from some other vantage point with a glass of local wine in your hand.

Go to the old city of Alghero for really good places to eat and try local delicacies such as wild boar. Afterwards you could do worse than head for Pocoloco in Alghero where you can listen to live jazz, latino and other music.

There are many places to visit in and around Alghero such as the Vineyards of Sella and Mosca. Travel south to Bosa and see amazing rock formations along the way. There archeological sites to visit both near to Allghero and further inland. Don’t miss the Nuraghe di Palmavera and the prehistoric necropolis of Anghelu Ruiu.
